Dr. Roberto Ruiz
President & Chief Operating Officer
An experienced executive manager with twenty-five years' experience in industrial technology, Dr. Roberto Ruiz joined OnQuest, Inc. as President and Chief Operating Officer in November 2010, and assumed full operational responsibility on January 1, 2011. Dr. Ruiz has worked in all facets of the petrochemical refining industry, from research and development to finance and budgeting and project management. He has specialized knowledge of process heating, environmental controls, fuels, gas separation, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and advanced diagnostics.
Before joining OnQuest, Dr. Ruiz was Vice President of the process burner group at the John Zink Company, a division of Koch Chemicals Technology Group. Prior to joining John Zink Company in 1997, Dr. Ruiz worked with the Gas Research Institute and later with Air Liquide, where he was commercial manager in the gas separation business. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota and his B.S. in engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Ruiz also earned an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
