Heaters in service for many years frequently require process improvements, mechanical upgrades, or targeted repairs, revamping, or replacement. Moreover, stricter standards for environmental emission levels in a number of jurisdictions are compelling companies in a number of industry sectors to analyze and improve processes, and retrofit existing combustion equipment.
To the advantage of such companies, technological evolution in a number of areas—from materials science and metallurgy to process to advances in mechanical design—can make such improvements increasingly worthwhile. Revamping and process improvements frequently will substantially enhance operating effectiveness and improve the economics of plant operations.
OnQuest and Born Canada offer a full range of engineering services to complement our fired-heater design and supply services. We provide engineering and construction expertise to increase the capacity and improve the efficiency of direct-fired heater applications, and in providing such services, we offer single-point responsibility for our clients. We also provide revamping and process improvement services—along with construction supervision, commissioning, and start-up services.
Revamps and retrofits are a particular expertise at OnQuest. We specialize in retrofitting existing heaters with both pre- and post-combustion technical solutions. While approximately half our business depends on the design and supply of new fired heaters, the other half is related to existing heater revamps and retrofits.
